Nice Room
The host was very friendly and even let me check in but I was an hour too late. The location is very good (10 min walk to the city center). The room was clean.

I would go again for the room.

White House View
White House View is comfortable, clean and more than adequate. It's also very handy for the city centre and bus routes.

The refectory style breakfast seating arrangements are a bit unusual but the breakfast itself was great.

Bed & Breakfast & Off To Brasenose
I had business in Oxford and needed a place to stay the night before. I found the White House View Guest House on, selecting it for its location and amenities. As I was late checking in, Management had left a note with the key code to enter the building, then a separate note for the key to my room. The room was warmly decorated, if a bit sparse on appointments. All the key bits were there: bed, en suite, kettle, telly. The bed was very comfortable and the linens super soft, a welcome plus. Breakfast the next morning was cooked to order and served promptly. Seating is family-style, so I was able to meet some of the other guests of the house. An iron was provided upon request - staff are very helpful. The only off-mark relates to parking: the listing says there is free parking, but all on street parking is by permit only. Happily, I didn't get ticketed but this could be an issue. Presumably there is an arrangement, but as I was a late arrival I missed out on those details. Fresh, fun, clean, affordable, nice staff, and walking distance to the heart of Oxford: the White House View Guest House is a bargain.

Pleasant Little B&b
I booked the hotel because it was handy for Oxford. It was easy to get into town. I walked but there were plenty of buses if I'd wanted. The hotel was pleasant. The room was clean, tidy and had all the amenities. The shower needs some attention as the water was a bit weak. The staff (George) were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice and served in a well set out and clean dining room.

Ideal Overnight Stop
Just the job for an overnight stay while attending a function in Oxford. Accommodation clean, breakfast good, owner friendly, walking distance of city centre, free parking 200m away. The owner gave us a lift into the city in the pouring rain - he was driving out anyway but went out of his way for us.

Better Than Expected; Good Value
I was resigned to a rather grim (but cheap) stay having read some of the reviews.

However, I was pleasantly surprised, by the room, the cooked breakfast, and helpful staff.

Sure, it is a little tatty around the edges, but for a double room with decent breakfast and easy walking to the centre of Oxford for less than £100 a night, what do you expect?

Oxford conjures up images of students riding their bicycles furiously to their next lecture, elegant university buildings and the terribly English pastime of spending a leisurely afternoon punting on the Thames. However, there is more to Oxford than the university... from museums... to peacefulparks... to its lively social life. The origins of the city of Oxford are lost in the mists of time. The remains of a priory were discovered close to the present day site of Christ Church Cathedral. Most of the colleges are open to the public, All Souls founded in 1437, Balliol founded in the 13th century, Christ Church which was founded by Cardinal Wolsey.
